Documentary Shorts 8 – Versus

Documentary Shorts 8 spotlights people who refuse to back down in the face of massive environmental and industrial forces.

In Vs. Goliath – “Appalachia”, residents of the Blue Ridge Mountains confront the destructive path of a massive gas pipeline cutting through their land. Vs. Goliath – “Cancer Alley” follows a Louisiana grandmother and teacher who takes on one of the largest plastics companies in the world, proving that courage doesn’t require a title, just conviction. Finally, The Human Side of Plastic: Abby Barrows brings us to coastal Maine, where scientists and fishermen work together to imagine a cleaner, more sustainable future before their traditions disappear.

These films capture the fight to protect home, heritage, and the fragile ecosystems that hold both together.

A Q&A will immediately follow the program.
