Narrative Shorts 1 – Family Ties

Narrative Shorts 1 opens the festival’s narrative lineup with stories about pivotal decisions—moments that shape who we become and what we’re willing to risk for freedom, love, and purpose.

In Moment of Choice, a woman stands at the crossroads of ambition and motherhood, forced to decide whether her dream job in Silicon Valley is worth what she might lose. Magan’s Fare follows a compassionate rideshare driver who discovers that an elderly passenger with dementia has nowhere to go, testing how far kindness can stretch on a cold December night. Highway to the Moon is a mysterious coming-of-age fantasy that explores friendship, grief, and the strange paths that lead us toward healing. And in FLÜGGE, a young woman in 1914 Austria defies her father’s expectations and the limits of her era to chase the skies and claim her independence.

Narrativce Shorts 1 is a heartfelt and cinematic journey through the moments that define us—when doing the right thing isn’t easy, but it’s the only way forward.

Filmmakers will be present for a post-screening Q&A.
