  • 107 mins

In Post Conviction, Roosevelt Myles’s decades-long fight for exoneration exposes the deep cracks in Chicago’s justice system, showing the emotional and societal toll of one man’s relentless pursuit of truth. Voices from the Abyss captures the grace and danger of Acapulco’s cliff divers, pairing breathtaking slow-motion footage with their own poetic reflections on fear, legacy, and the pull of the sea.

Emilia shines a light on a Spanish activist who opens her heart and home to undocumented youth, redefining family through compassion and action. A City That Cares journeys to the US-Mexico border, where an educator and her students find strength in empathy and the belief that community can heal what politics divides. And in Alternative Learning, a Toronto high school replaces textbooks with skateboards, proving that creativity and mentorship can transform education and lives.

Documentary Shorts 3 honors people who refuse to give up—whether they’re fighting injustice, diving into danger, or teaching the next generation to build something better.
