Unseen: The Art Life of Dick Godwin

As a gifted, yet self abnegating, scenic and fine artist, Richard “Dick” Godwin spent his life creating stage scenery for some of the most renowned international scenic designers in opera and musical theater. Native St. Louisan Dick dazzled directors and scenic designers from Hamburg opera to Hollywood films to New York opera and Broadway, but his heart was at the Muny in St. Louis, the largest outdoor theater in the US. In Unseen, his legacy is honored by scenic artists and designers across the US, and his hidden life as a fine artist is revealed.
