Documentary Shorts 1 – Hidden Truths

  • 115 mins

Documentary Shorts 1 is a deeply human exploration of life, death, and everything that makes our time here meaningful.

In The Sacred Society, hauntingly beautiful sand animation honors the Jewish volunteers who prepare bodies for burial with care and reverence. Correct Me If I’m Wrong follows a Chinese family’s clash between tradition and acceptance as they attempt to “heal” their queer heir. I Wanted To Hear Your Voice uses real voicemails to capture a son’s love and exhaustion as he cares for his mother with dementia. A Good Death turns its gaze toward a compassionate nurse guiding patients through the final steps of life, while The Life We Have celebrates the strength of a man who refuses to be defined by his cancer diagnosis. Finally, Black Longevity uplifts the stories and philosophies of Black elders who show that aging can be an act of joy, resistance, and deep wisdom.

Together, these films create a moving reflection on mortality, identity, and the beauty of living with intention.

Filmmakers will be present for a post-screening Q&A.
