For 26 years, the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase has celebrated the creativity, courage, and stories of filmmakers with ties to our region. From students in local film programs and St. Louis artists working across the country to first-time filmmakers of any age, Showcase gives local talent the opportunity to share their work with an audience and experience it as film is meant to be seen: together, on the big screen.

As a nonprofit, Cinema St. Louis creates opportunities for people to make, discover, and connect through film, from Showcase, SLIFF, and QFest to educational workshops and hands-on camps. Since January 2023, we have also preserved and operated the historic Hi-Pointe Theatre, the only independent, nonprofit-owned cinema in St. Louis and a permanent home where local filmmakers can celebrate their work.

Your support helps keep these opportunities accessible and ensures that St. Louis stories continue to have a place on the big screen. Donate, Become a Member, or Volunteer (see below) to sustain local film.

VOLUNTEER

Each festival is made possible thanks to volunteers who provide their time and energy to the day-of needs that allow our festival to operate. Our festivals would not be possible without this generosity!

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with:

  • Opening Night Reception
  • Scanning tickets
  • Welcoming patrons & handing out programs
  • Directing patrons into the theatre

YOUTH VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

If you are between the ages of 14 and 18 and currently in high school, you could be eligible for CSL’s Youth Film Volunteer Corps, which engages young people interested in film and volunteerism throughout the year. Getting involved in this one-of-a-kind festival provides youth volunteers an opportunity to connect with and serve the local film community.
