Molière, a down-and-out actor-cum-playwright up to his ears in debt. When the wealthy Jourdain offers to cover that debt so that Molière’s theatrical talents might help Jourdain win the heart of a certain widowed marquise, hilarity ensues.
Introduction by Isabelle Heidbreder.
Chevalier of the French “Order of the Palmes Académiques” and of the “National Order of Merit”, Consule Honoraire de France à Saint-Louis, and professor at the Alliance Française de Saint Louis, Isabelle was born and raised in Toulon on the French Riviera (Provence). After studying law for two years at the Université de Toulon-La Garde, she “gave it all up for love” and moved to the US in 1981.
Engaging in several diverse careers in various locations across her adopted country, she joined the Alliance Française in 1998 as a teacher/translator/lecturer/tour guide, eventually being persuaded to become its executive director in 2009, she stepped down in 2026. She has a toe in the entertainment industry as well, having done voice-over work for the Archdiocese of St. Louis as (her distant relative) Rose Philippine Duchesne and, on the less-holy side, Sharon Osbourne in the French version of an early-2000s reality show. She is an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction alike which feed a deep curiosity of the personal stories in the history of France and a deep love of St. Louis.
