Si la Isla Quiere (“Island Willing”)

Chile’s Robinson Crusoe Island, named for the marooned sailor who inspired the novel, has a higher percentage of endemic species per square kilometer than the Galápagos. In the face of outside pressures, the small community that calls it home fights to protect both its culture of stewardship and the Island’s species, with the island itself as both setting and protagonist.
