Junkie

Perpetual screwup Stevie (Rocky Shay) is running on empty having just escaped from rehab [again]. On a quest to repay her debts and reconcile with her estranged, openly gay son Liam before skipping town for good, Stevie winds up in a slew of high-risk predicaments over the course of a few frenzied days. An unforgettable Southern odyssey, “Junkie” evolves into a touching, emotionally raw mother-and-son story about dignity, identity, and the fragile hope of redemption. Executive produced by Patty Jenkins (“Wonder Woman,” “Monster”), “JUNKIE” announces a bold new voice in William Means, while Shay’s fearless, darkly comic, and deeply human performance as the bonkers yet endearing Stevie stands as one of the great breakout performances of the year.
